Course name: Informetrics Research
Teaching medium: English
A. COURSE DESCRIPTION
2 credit, 24 Class Hours, 2st Semester etc.
Information metrology is the need of the development of the information age. It is an important task to cultivate the talents for the research and application of information metrology under the background of the development of social economic information and information industry. This paper discusses information metrology from three aspects: theory, method and application. Firstly, it systematically introduces the basic problems of information metrology, the law of literature information growth, the law of aging, the law of citation, Bradford's law, Zipf's law, Lotka's law and other theoretical knowledge, and expounds the theory and application of network information metrology combined with the development trend. Secondly, it discusses the quantitative analysis methods such as literature information statistical analysis, mathematical model analysis and citation analysis in detail. Finally, it expounds the application of information metrology in science and technology management and information resource utilization through case analysis. Through the study of this course, students can master and skillfully use the basic concepts, basic laws, processes, methods, tools, etc. of information metrology, so as to measure, analyze and predict the information in various fields such as social, economic and scientific research
B. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
This course is mainly based on classroom teaching, interspersed with case teaching, through case practice, master the quantitative analysis method of information measurement.
