2 credit, 24 Class Hours, 2st Semester etc.
B. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
This course focuses on the basic concepts related to patents and patent documents, patent application process, IPC classification, generic patents, types of patent retrieval, process of patent retrieval, patent analysis method, patent map, purpose and application of patent analysis, etc. So that graduate students can master the basic theories, methods and tools of patent analysis comprehensively and systematically, so as to lay a solid foundation for engaging in patent analysis research and practice.

COURSE OBJECTIVES(five or six objectives; general but comprehensive)
Objective 1: to understand the process of patent application and the types of patents and patent documents.
Objective 2: to master the composition and characteristics of patent literature, to master the patents of the same family, and to understand the publication of patent literature.
Objective 3: to understand the classification of IPC, master the general process of patent literature retrieval, and master the special application of IPC in patent retrieval.
Objective 4: to understand the types and applications of patent retrieval and master the skills of patent retrieval.
Objective 5: to understand the application and significance of PCT, the types, functions and applications of patent analysis, and master the skills of patent analysis.

Research paper (60%): (1) At least 2000 words; (2) Complete article structure; (3) Good topics and innovation; (4) Compliance with academic ethics, no plagiarism.
2. Grading standards: (1) 60~70: Can basically complete the teaching tasks and assignments of this course and appropriately use patent retrieval and analysis.
(2) 71~80: Can complete the teaching content and tasks of this course and have a relatively comprehensive understanding of patent retrieval and analysis..
(3) 81~90: Can well complete the teaching tasks of this course and have a comprehensive understanding of patent retrieval and analysis.
(4) 91~100: Can perfectly complete the teaching tasks of this course and expertly skilled use of patent retrieval and patent analysis.
