Teaching medium: English

A. COURSE DESCRIPTION

1 credit, 24 Class Hours, 2st Semester etc.

Course description: This course mainly teaches the basic theory of user information behavior research, the method system of information behavior analysis, the software and hardware tools of related analysis and their practical applications. And focused on the user information behavior analysis in the context of big data, user experience usability testing and visual behavior research and analysis three aspects have been explained in detail, so that graduate students can understand and familiarize with the model and method of user information behavior analysis and research in the context of big data. Master the skills of using Morae software and Tobbi eye tracker to analyze user information behavior and evaluate the usability of information service products.

B. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

Based on the teaching and research characteristics of the interdisciplinary integration of this course, it is recommended that students study the basic theories and research methods of library science, information science, psychology, behavior science and other related disciplines in advance; based on innovative postgraduate teaching and research training models, this course relies on experiments The platform carries out a teaching method that combines teaching, research and practice. It is necessary to arrange 4 hours of experimental teaching time in the class, and the entire teaching process is 24 hours. According to the subject background of each student, it is generally appropriate to work in groups of 2-3 people to conduct course experiments.

COURSE OBJECTIVES(five or six objectives; general but comprehensive)
Objective 1: Present teaching content in the form of experiments, guide students to design experimental ideas and analyze problems around cases, encourage students to exchange plans, cooperate to complete experiments and reports, and improve students' research and practical ability.

Objective 2: To enable students to understand the knowledge system of information behavior, be familiar with questionnaires, interviews and experiments, and master the operation methods and data analysis methods of usability testing, various eye trackers, physiological and psychological testing and EEG testing.

Objective 3: Cultivate students' problem awareness, inquiry awareness and team spirit. Students learn to choose appropriate research methods, design scientific solutions and solve practical problems.
