From October 30th to November 1st, 2019, the International Symposium on "Strategic Planning and Discipline Development" was successfully held in Zhenjiang. The conference was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Library Association and the Jiangsu Provincial Library and Information Work Committee and undertook by the Jiangsu University Library. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of Jiangsu University, Wang Xincai, Director of Wuhan University Library, Ke Ping, Director of Library and Information Science (MLIS) Center of Nankai University, Cheng Zhangcan, Director of Nanjing University Library, Li Aiguo, Director of Southeast University Library, and Deputy Library of Nanjing Library Chang Quanqin, deputy director of Nanjing University Library Luo Wei, director of Nanjing Normal University Library Guan Hongxing, director of Nanjing University of Technology Library Zhao Naiqi, director of Hohai University Library Yu Dahuai, 8 foreign experts and more than 240 representatives from university libraries and public libraries attended the meeting.

The director of the Nanjing University of Technology Library, Zhao Naixuan, made a concluding speech. She expressed sincere gratitude to the colleagues of the conference and the organizer of the conference, Jiangsu University Library, that the meeting was the first discussion on the 14th Five-Year Plan. There were not only forward-looking reports on the development of the library industry, but also academic thoughts. Not only the speeches of well-known domestic library people, but also the exchange of experience between internationally known university librarians made it a veritable "large and luxurious" international conference.
